hey guys, first off i've been reading on the site for a few weeks now in all of the different discussions (Marines, Army, Navy, and AF, all topics)im having a really hard time deciding on which branch to enlist in because I've heard the Navy waiting period is up to a year being a depper & personally i dont want to wait a year but if thers a way around it id like to go be aerographers mate for future in getting a degree in meteorology after the military....
However; I really want to join specOps & i know that in the AF there is actually a specific combat weather AFSC...which would be awesome....is there something like that for the Navy or would i have to go to BUD/S in order to be a SEAL/SWCC?
I do not have access to a pool though and was planning on just trying out after about a year or so on base swimming everyday (ive heard there are gyms and pools on base, tell me so if not please.)
I'm 6'4 200lbs..work out everyday however have a hard time doing pushups for 2mins for some reason..i guess i just started trying the 2min time limit i think i just need to pace myself cause im not weak lol..

Again, i'm just looking for any help what so ever on which branch i should enlist in to get sent to boot quicker...cause i really dont want to wait that long im 19 now and want to get my career goin...i would join any branch...

ive talked to recruiters, they dont give me a definete time table because i think they jus want to fill their quota on getting another recruit and getting their money cause ive told them straight up im not joining if i have to wait a ridiculous time...anyways..thanks again guys and thank you for all of your awesome work, both in the field, off the field, and on here...looking forward to joining you all soon!

recruiters dont have time frames and for the Navy, not many AGs are needed normally (though for all branches wait times can be or are a year)

If you want Meteorology, why not go NROTC and request oceanography on the Officer side?

I used to be interested in that, I was talking to a Navy recruiter last year & asked him about it and he said some people with 28's on their ACT's dont even get accepted for the program...i only got a 22..& was in the top HALF of the class...he was sayin you gotta be like top 10 and all that **** soo i pretty much ruled that out of the question..

did you talk to an Officer recruiter?

22 is the minimum for eligibility. Start reading the below site

no clue. You'd have to look up branch-specific ROTC programs to find out.
