What is the difference between Navy SAR Land, and Navy SAR Sea?

What is the kind of training they both go into?

Do Navy SAR Land conduct Navy Combat Search And Rescue on land similiar to the Air Forces Pararescue?

What is the overall scope of operations they both can go into?

What are the kind of additional schools one in either rate can go into?

Just curious...

I've looked everywhere online, and have found no info...

Thank you in advance, oh, and I'm unaware of where in the forums this would fall under, so I just assumed general discussion...

Thanks because SAR is SAR. The only difference is there are aviation SAR swimmers who jump out of helos and surface SAR swimmers who jump off ships. Aviation SAR fly on helos and fly missions ashore and at sea depending on unit and current location.

Navy SAR is nothing like AF pararescue. No way. Well, not "nothing", but the extent of training is very different.

It's all gonna depend on what squadron and platform you fly with/in. IMHO, if you want to rescue someone, go check out the Coast Guard. That's where it's at. If you really want "combat", check out AF pararescue. Good luck.

A good friend of mine started in the coasties as a SAR swimmer, a few years ago he switched to the Navy (Still the only person I know that left the coasties) I believe he just made chief recently and was pulling new fly boys out of the drink in P-cola until he deployed a few months back. He's a great guy and he gave me one piece of info on SAR guys. He says "we're studs, nobody will out do us." I tell you what the way he and his buddies run triatholons and marathons I would put him and his unit up against anybody (non combat of course)
