Nuclear weapons allow the little guys to fend off aggressors. North Korea will probably sell nuclear technology to other small states, which is a very good thing.
No doubt, many here support the right of private citizens to own firearms. Firearms even out the odds when a stronger party attacks a weaker party. For instance, the world's best fighter could be walking alone, and be confronted by ten men who want to rob and kill him. Even though he is the world's best fighter, he has no chance against ten men, unless he is able to run away (which may not be possible). The right firearm will give him a very good chance of successfully defending his life. Anyone alive could end up being the weaker party in certain circumstances, no matter what his physical strength, speed, and fighting skills.
Likewise, nuclear weapons have proven that countries that are small in area and population can deter invasion and/or attack from countries that are larger in one or both ways. I find it ironic that many people who support the right of the law-abiding to defend themselves against attacks by criminals, support the USA forcing its will on the rest of the world in the form of Pax Americana.
Finally, there is the moral dimension. No one has any business taking away my legally-owned firearms. No one has any business trying to take away a sovereign entity's nuclear arsenal.
