I just bought a Dell this month through AAFES (part of the "Mall", where you choose the store and it takes you to a special website specifically with the discounted prices), and my dad, who is a computer programmer, was astonished by the price difference. Plus I paid no sales tax or shipping, which probably saved close to $150.
ETA: I just built the same computer that I built and bought through AAFES on Dell's regular site, and it looks like I saved about $100 on actual hardware, and about $100 on technical support packages.
