Be careful signing up for Directv. This is my case. The TMI (Tridentmarketing) ad on Military.com states "...customers get $26 off per month for 12 months!" The first bill from Directv indicated the agreement was for 18 months.
My credit is frozen thus could not be checked so I paid $200.00 refundable deposit, called (Activation Fee). This is being refunded at the rate of $5.00 per month, now it looks like I have a 40 month agreement. I ordered service for 3 TVs. I received 2 receivers at no cost, the 3rd receiver cost $69.95. Why was I charged for the third receiver and still having to pay a lease cost? The ad all indicted that 28 channels FREE of HBO, SHOWTIME & STARZ for 3 months and a FREE HD, DVR or HD DVr receiver upgrade. I received none of this. When ordering Directv check it out before agreeing to anything. If I had the opportunity to do it over I would not order anything until it was in writing. I think Military.com should check the company "TMI" out before accepting any more of their ads. |

We went through something similar with VMI.
I will always sign up through the actual company and not a marketing company. |

this isnt always the case. i order all of my services through 5linx, which happens to be a marketing company, and i usually get even better deals than the direct company offers. Of course, it's always best to check whats in writing.
