Hi everyone. Does anyone know of any good cruise line and if they offer military discount. My husband and I are planning in going in a cruise this summer, any info would be greatly appreciated. thanx
I have contacted Carnival before & they had a cruise for military spouses when their husbands were deployed. It was like $100. You had to have a valid military ID & a copy of your husbands orders showing where they were deployed. I thought this was a cool thing for spouses to get together and go do BUT my military spouse friends are spread out all over the US so it didn't work for us
I went on two cruises WITH my husband, hence not deployed husband. I still get calls once a month from them telling me about new cruises and the discounts I can get.
My husband and I have cruised several times. Norweign or NCL advertises the freestyle dining - be alert - it usually means you will wait for a seat. We hated the lines, disembarking for ports was a nightmare. We went two times with NCL from two different ports and they were a problem. All companies offer discounts but the sales are the same or better. Calling them can sometimes get extra discounts or ship credits. I do better on the phone than on-line. no outside links Don't forget Sams Club vacation site also.

I think they all do, especially given our economy. I'm finding extremely good deals on all of the cruiselines.
Just remember that to add in tips (follow the example the cruise lines gives to you), beverage cards and enough room on your ATM to cover all charges at the end of your trip.
We've been on 4 cruises, all with military discounts. 3 were Carnival, one was NCL. I hated NCL, loved Carnival. The discounts were extremely easy to get, I just faxed my DH's Military ID to them, and it saved us about $200 each time. But wait! I'm in the process of booking another Carnival cruise for Feb. 2010, and they have a new program. It's called "early saver discount" and the savings was for substantially more than the military discount was. You might want to check the Carnival website for the date you want to cruise, and where, and then call them directly to compare the military rate with the "early saver discount" rate. We're getting a great cruise to the southern carribbean (with 7 ports of call!) for under $1,000 for the both of us. Happy cruising!
I've booked several through this place in Houston. You see them quite often on the Google ads and their name is Vacationstogo dot com. You can indicate you are looking for a Military Discount and specify up to 4 cruise lines at a time. Awesome deals. Too bad they don't allow outside links, otherwise I'd put one in here for your convenience. Send me a postcard.
