I'm sorry, what? That's a pretty loaded statement. If you think you are due a discount, then pick a park that gives a discount, or from one of the few that allow military and their families in for free.

Then buy your tickets at ITT if you feel that way. If you feel you should still get a bigger discount don't go. No place, store, tourist attraction has to give a discount at all, but they do because they want to show appreciation for what you are doing or have done. What about other occupations that protect the country and put their lives on the line that don't get discounts? Police officers, Firefighters, Medics, etc... My dad put his life on the line every day going to work but did he get upset because he didn't get a discount, NO. If fact he never asked for one because he felt it wasn't an obligation. If they offer it then great, but no need to get your pants in a wad over a discount. You either take it or you walk away and go someplace else.

no, we don't. Neither do Police men, Firefighters, teachers Plumbers or Crossing Guards.

nobody deserves a discount just by virtue of their career choice.

Tell me that again when you have met a person from a country like Uganda or Kenya who survives on $300 local currency a year, which amounts to around $4.75 US PER YEAR!!!

You weren't drafted into the military you chose to join. There is not many jobs out there who provide housing for you or give you an allowance to rent, pay for your meals, give you free medical and dental, free gyms, theaters, stores you shop at for discounted items & groceries, free flights, allowance for clothes, allowance for food, allowance for being away from your family for longer than 30 days, free education, retiring with pension and medical after working 20 years, and the list goes on.

Be glad as well you live in a country where conscription isn't necessary and you actually do get the above. Many other countries do not offer their military 1/2 or even 1/4 of what the US military is given.

so? it's your CHOICE to enlist, nobody held a gun to your head. it's your CHOICE to marry someone who is in the military. our choices do NOT make us any better than any one else. so no, we do NOT deserve special treatment.

we get PLENTY already ..our health care is practically free, no other employer PAYS for your housing costs. No other employer gives you 30 days paid vacation your first year in, No other employer make sit possible to buy groceries at cost or not pay taxes on other goods.

every single vendor has the right to dictate if they give out discounts and who to.

Wow seriously? Are you aware that people who hold similar jobs as those in the military are without life/health/dental insurance? Yet here you sit riding on the tax payer's dollar expecting more hand outs.

Do yourself a favor and check around to see how much health insurance would cost on your own dime. I think you just may realize how good you ALREADY have it.

I too served, but I never felt entitled to anything from anyone.
