When planning to stay at a choice hotel, you should always check out the AAA rates as 75 percent of the time the AAA rates are MUCH (last time I booked it was $50 less) cheaper than military rates. I stay an average of 30 times a year at different choice hotels, so I am constantly checking on their rates. I was disgusted to find that they would rip off the military by acting like the military discount is always cheaper. Sometimes it is cheaper, but please be aware and check all rates. I don't think they should be able to advertise on military.com though as this discount is not always a discount and I have found a couple of times that their standard rates were even cheaper than their military rates.
