YYYEESSSS!!!!! U.S. Supreme Court says that residents of the District of Columbia may own a handgun! After 32 years and probably the highest crime rate in the nation, finally 5 Justices made a good ruling...the scary-bad thing |

Thankfully George W was in office and put in two of those 5 Justices.
Imagine, if you will (and consider your vote), what types of federal judges (and not just Supreme Court) will be appointed by the next President, and the future rulings they will make. |

Personally, I had thought: ...."hmmmm? what if that half-wit Al Gore had been in the White House when it came time to nominate a Justice..?" Would have been a train wreck for our 2nd Amendment for sure! I was listening to the audio arguments {no cameras allowed inside the Supreme Court} last night on C-SPAN (with the photo of the speaker at the moment shown on the screen---like when a reporter is broadcasting from somewhere without a live camera feed.) The Justices ask hard questions of the attorneys and the Solicitor General who, one at a time try to make their case...in other words you've got to "know yer stuff" or get really chewed-up and spit-out! The main brain on our side (from what I heard last night) was Justice Scalia. The main one against private gun ownership was Stevens--who kept saying that it was for militias and militias don't need/use handguns...The Solicitor General (from the Justice Department) had some historical evidence from the 1700's which mentioned that Militiamen did have pistols! Interesting stuff. If anyone has internet connections then you can go over to www.cpan.org and look for the program. Sight Picture, Sight Alignment, out.
