I was trying to get into the army around sept. 13 2009. I was processing at the Baltimore meps. They discovered a problem with my flat feet. I had a consul first to go to a hospital in bethesda md. The doctor said that I was fit for military training. Took the consul back to baltimore meps, the CMO then sent a waiver. After three weeks my recruiter told me that my wavier has been denied.

I have about 110 college credits
scored a 80 on the asvab

There is a brief synopsis. I was wondering if I could join another branch like the airforce. Any help would be appreciated.

I know things are tight with the Coast Guard these days. However, with flat feet waivers I was three for three approved. I was in recruiting from 1988-1996. If you are interested in the Coast Guard, I'd 'em a call.

I would think you'd have a good chance with the Air Force and Navy too.

Flat feet for the AF are not disqualifying, but do you need arch supports? If you require arch supports, then flat feet will be a DQ for the AF. That could be the reason the Army said no, not sure about the Army.

If one were to look at my feet, there are no arches. I have no arches in my feet. So that will probally mean I will need arch supports. While I was in high school i was very active and still am. I do not have any problems with my feet, ankels, or knees. If all branches are DQ then is there something else that i could do?

It really depends on the individual service. When I went to a podiatrist as a child, he said that my feet were so flat that he couldn't even stick a straight pin under the arch. I was able to serve almost nine years in the Navy with this condition. There wasn't even a waiver required. But, I enlisted during Vietnam and it was easier to enlist then.
