I took the over 40 medical exam and pass everything but the cholerterol test. My cholerterol was just a little over, but MEPS DQ me for it. My recuiter told me that MEPS would send me a letter and tell me what I needed to do next. When I got the letter from MEPS it just said that I was DQ for Cholerterol and that a waiver had been recommended. I called my recruiter back to see what I needed to do and was told that he did not know what to do next and that he would get back with me. (new recruiter). It has been a few weeks and I have not heard back from him. Who takes care of the waiver, getting them approved the recruiter or the people at MEPS and how long goes it take. I have called my recruiter but he is always out of the office and never returns my calls. USCG Reserves ANY HELP WOULD BE NICE

Whenever I had a physical stamped "waiver recommended" by MEPS, I simply checked out the physical. Then I burned a copy, and put it in the applicant's preenlistment file.
I then mailed the physical to the recruiting command with a cover letter with my recommendation. e.g. "Forwarded for consideration." "Mr. Applicant is an outstanding enlistment prospect, and I hope you will grant him a waiver for his flat feet." (I saw that one the most, but did have a few for other reasons). The rookie you are dealing with simply may not know what to do. |
