Don't settle for 31.

Study and retake it.

DO NOT RETAKE THE ASVAB. The odds are against you improving your score significantly. And most services will not let you retake with a qualifying score unless you can show that you would increase your score (i.e. completed a college math or english class).

Talk with your recruiter about options regarding MOS'.

you will only be offered an MOS you qualify for that your prospective drill unit has an opening for. if you do not qualify for any of them, you won't be enlisting.

Everyone has something they suck at. It shouldn't keep them from getting what they want though.

It's good that you'll take whatever they can offer. Others are too picky (sometimes rightfully, sometimes not).

But when you get in, I hope you adopt higher standards for yourself. In this world, you will learn that "enough to get by" will only get you so far.

i get what your saying and yes once i get in i wont have low standards, and my recruiter said i can enlist in July, so im waiting on a list to pick from, and mine is either not able to join (i want to join 24th Uniform) but if it isn't, i can always pick differently

Definately agree with william here.

When I was recruiting, I was not allowed to retest someone with a passing score. If for some reason they cut an unqualifying score, not only was that a problem, but now they had to wait 6 months to retest.

I've mentioned this before, but I'll bring it up again. I had a high school senior retake the ASVAB in school without telling me. Fortunately for him, he still qualified for enlistment and the guaranteed school I had for him. But he did cut a lower score. I think he cut a 60% AFQT the first time, but I remember for sure on the retest, the score was a 53% AFQT.
