Let me start of by saying, I had my appendix removed on 07/2009 and everything turned out great.

Now I am planning to enlist in the Air Force. In my medical (cause i need this to show proof of the appendicitus) its states that I am allergic to Seafood and Pollen.

My problem is that I am not allergic to Seafood. So I know this is gonna cost me a problem. I dont know what to do now?

Is there like any waiver I can get to show that I am not allergic ?....

Please can someone give me some advice....

An allergy to seafood will not keep you out. However, you need to wait 6 months after any surgery in order to process an application for active duty. Just wait a few more months and you will be fine.

The only allergy I have ever seen as a DQ is peanut oil. I had a girl DQed for that, otherwise, you should be fine.

Good luck.

I did see a recruit discharged for a seafood allergy when I served at the CG Recruit Training Center. However, he could have requested a waiver that probably would have been approved. After a week in recruit training, he just wanted out of dodge. Happens frequently.

I would contact the hospital and have them correct the treatment summary. Stuff like that can happen. Recently at the Veteran's Administration where I work, we had a veteran who needed a health summary for a job he was applying for. On the health summary, it said he had a history of COPD. He contacted us, and the record was corrected.

when i was in in 06 someone was put out for it. hers was an anaflactic reaction though

but what you could do is take another allergy test outta pocket and take the doctors letter and results with you to meps and see if that helps anything just in case sometimes flags
