I got prescribed adderall for add ONLY FOR SCHOOL purposes and I always function just fine without it. I use it so I can succeed in college classes as they are pretty complex. I would like to join the USMC Reserve and I am wondering how hard it is to get a waiver for adderall AFTER bootcamp so I can concentrate in college while in the reserves. I can make it through bootcamp without it no problem but I would like to know if it is possible to get a waiver once I am in just for school use. I am very motivated and have always wanted to join the corps. Thanks!

The rules are that you need to be off the drug for a year while in school and under a doctors supervision, with no negative impact on grades. Once in the service, the use of this drug would not be allowed. Active treatment for ADD/AHDD is not compatible with military service.
This is not something that is waived. Either you can function well without or you can not.
since there are twice as many kids who handle those complex college courses WITHOUT having to resort to a crutch like meds, your argument/premise is flawed.
they will NOT prescribe you any meds once in. and if you try and say you need em to function IN the military.. after going through all the trouble of getting a waiver after your year off 'em is up.. you'll be kicked out before they will give you a Script.
