IT's been over two years and I've yet to receive my discharge papers. I enlisted in the USAFR and due to some family circumstances and my recruiter and I miscommunications I didn't go to basic training. I never shipped out to BMT, I want to enlist in the ANG. My new recruiter says I need some sort of paperwork to enlist. My old recruiter says I need to wait for them but everyone else tells me since I didn't go to BMT that I was never enlisted. I want to enlist. Can someone please help me? How do I get these papers or my RE code? Please help!

I'm of the camp that doubts you will get anything but to make sure check this out:

http://ask.afpc.randolph.af.mil/

Or call: (800) 616-3775 and select options 1,2, or 3

Not sure if they can help you or those are the right areas to check but it doesn't hurt to check.

did you sign your final papers?
if you didnt go I wouldnt expect you to have any unless you signed that final grouping of papers.
because at basic we got them before we could board a plane or bus or what have you, because we had to sign and acknowledgment of it.

have you talked to a recuriter again and seen what they say?

I never wen to McGuire AFB the day I was suppose to ship. So I didn't get to sign any papers or swear in. I swore in at MEPS but NEVER the swearing in you have to do before you actually leave to BMT. And I've spoken to various recruiters of the ANG and tell me they need something in writing. So does my old AFR recruiter. But everytime I ask someone they say I never really enlisted cus I didn't go to BMT.

By the way thanks for that number ErichG2. They said they will get back to me between 7-10 days. Although, I think I may have already called that number and they sent me all the papers I signed but no RE-Code. And the person I spoke with also told me I didn't need any documentation to re-enlist. But, I guess I have no choice but to continue to wait. Thanks again.
