ok im thinking about joining the navy, iv taken my asvab and did pretty good but as far as getting in... see i got arrested twice one was for a fight at school the other shoplifting and my recruiter said i should contact a lawyer guy to get me off probation?????
also about the MEPS im worried i may not get past one cause i avnt been to the dentist in 9 years and i havnt been to the docter for a regular check up in like 3-4 years. also in the past iv had problems with cutting which iv gotten over by now but theres some pretty bad scars i mean are they going to say something about that would they??
can anyone help me out cause i dont want to pay this lawyer guy and then not be able to join

That's correct, you can't join while you're still on probabtion.

Yes they will say something about it. Self mutilation (cutting) is a DQ. Hopefully, someone with more knowledge than me will be able to tell you if it's possible to get a waiver.

the self mutilation is the largest and most difficult hurdle. it is a PDQ with no waivers authorized. once you are off probation,everything else is waverable( no promises that they WILL be, of course.

you should be aware that getting off probation JUST to enlist is a DQ as well.

in other words..you can ask the judge to let you off early cuz you've been a good boy. you can't ask him to let you off early so you can enlist.

MEPS will definately catch this and PDQ you. You more than likely had some sort of medical care for this as well. The probation is the least of your worries. You would be wasting money on the lawyer. CPO Kalbach
