Just so there is no confusion for all the wanna be recruiters that aren't even in the service in the forum here. The last page of the SF-86(Questionare for Clearance) has a statement that is signed authorizing the government to access your "sealed" medical files in screening for National Security positions. If a discrepancy is found they may look into you past for information. Does this mean that everyones med files are pulled no but if the need comes up they can. Read the paperwork before signing. If you are not in the service or you do not know the in's and out's of recruiting and processing applicants please don't chime in and tell people information that is wrong.
This was posted by Ruanne in another thread. All that read this should take heed, it is a very important reason why past medical issues, no matter what need to be disclosed an evaluated by the MEPS doctors. Anyone encouraging you to lie is WRONG!!!
Do the right thing. Be honest, and tell your recruiter that you would not be comfortable with being dishonest. Be calm and respectful about it, but say it.
