I am pretty sure I am going AF over the navy and am looking into what jobs I am interested in. I have a couple of Minor in Possession of alcohol charges on my record. I know i am going to require a waiver for that, but now i am worried about the security clearance issue. Some of the jobs i am interested in require a top secret clearance. Does anybody have experience with this? Do you think that these two gross misdemeanor charges will DQ me? Does it make any difference what my ASVAB score is? I got a 90 with no study time.

I'm guessing that you are cleared for processing with the Air Force.

If that's the case, I'm sure the MIP charges would be no problem so long as you list them on the SF-86 and any other forms needed for a secret or top secret clearance. I've known people with worse offenses than MIP who held top secret clearances. But they listed the offenses, and they were out in the open. That's what made the difference.
