ATTENTION: Closure of golf course at IH detrimental to over 500+++ marines and other military stationed on this remote station. A station that has only 2 recreational activities-golf and bowling. Send letters to congressmen, CNO, RAdm. Gay,NDWash.DC - Re: the stripping of MWR facilities from our active duty who give all and don't ask for much.

It is not only the closing of MWR facilities such as the situation posted above. Consider the three (3) Holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Years when most or all facilities that are there for the Soldier or Servicemember are CLOSED. Unfortunately there are Soldiers that are unable to leave the installation either thru duty commitments or financal, they have nowhere to go or are limited to the four walls that surround'em.

Regarding the closing of the golf course, we lost one of ours effective 01/01/08, but it'll be for the purpose of building additional needed quarters for our Soldiers and their families.
