I'm using a Westell Versalink Model 327 W router. The Ethernet (E1) connection flashes constantly. Does anyone know how to stop this? Is this why I get a "Network Unplugged" message?

Thanks.

Hey sanrayo, You might want to try reseting the router. Unplug it from the power source and wait a minute or two then plug it back in. If this doesn't work, then you may want to go to www.PCWorld.com and post in there forums. It doesn't cost anything to join and is a good place to go if you have a problem. Yep, I am a member ( coastie65 ). Charlie S.

Sanrayo.. is it a steady flash or a "data" flash. I had a external USB adapter that use to do that till I changed some security settings on my PC. Seems I had changed my security to OPEN instead of SHARED and forgot to change that PC. I have like 5 right now on my wireless network (only 4 get used at one time at it's worst). I have only 1 PC on the router using a Ethernet cable and my sons xbox 360 is plugged in and so is my printer (my router is a print server also). Do you have a spare cable? Was it working before and what changed during or after it stopped working?

I will guess that it is a "data" flash because it is the Ethernet light. All the other lights are steady.

After looking around the internet for answers I'm coming to the conclusion that the router is the problem due to age (3-4 years). Other people have experienced problems with this model.

Also, with other people in my area on line with routers maybe we are on frequencies that are to close. I have not been able to find the way to change my freq. I have tried to re-set the router by un-plugging, turning the power switch off and pressing the re-set button. None of that helped. Pressing the re-set changed the connection settings requiring a tech call for help to Verizon. They were a big help walking me through the re-setting.

My desktop runs on the Ethernet connection, and the laptop runs on the router. The printer is shared.

This all may be resolved next Wednesday when I change ISPs and get a new router.

Thanks for your response.

P.S. I tried a new Cat 5 cable. That didn't help.
