I have downloaded the demo. In my opinion, this is the greatest shooter ever! BF2? Whats that!? Medal of Honor? Whats that!? All other shooters are now obsolete!

If the demo is up on LIVE i'll download it immediately. I've been anticipating this game for months. ditching the WWII theme was a great decision as those titles are played out. And Medal of Honor went down the crapper years ago.

Try FILEPLANET. Free to download but you might have to wait about 30 min for it to start. Get a membership and the download will start immediately. It is a nice game though. The multiplayer will make or break this game as far as I am concerned. It is very nice though.

The COD4 web-site has a list of mirror sites for downloading the demo. Enjoy!

My two sons and brother in the CG are all three very excited about this game coming out. I don't know that I have seen any ads for it yet.

I agree these WWII games are getting old. I like the Omaha beach battles though but those usually end pretty quick in single player mode. I wish they would come out with a Vietnam game. Those i love. Im not a big shoot em up game player but i love GRAW and GRAW2. Ill rent this game before i go out and buy it.

I've logged alot of time on this game the last couple days both online and offline. I kind of had to get back into "Call of Duty mode" as far as gameplay because i'd been playing through Rainbow Six again prior to release. And for a military shooter I think it's important to have a "cover" button where you hug up against an object with the ability to peek and fire around the corner. So not having that in this game felt lacking, and took a bit of an adjustment. But the gameplay is tried and true Call of Duty.

I don't usually play online but I spent almost all day yesterday online in Team Deathmatch. I had a blast and have worked up my online rank to 1st Sargeant. Great fun.

Offline i'm about just over a 3rd of the way through the game and it's awesome as well. Nothing quite like being the gunner on a C-130 gunship watching enemy bodies fly in all directions while you pelt the landscape with one of 3 weapons. The animations and physics in this game are top-notch. The enemy and friendly AI is stellar. And the visuals are probably the best of any 360 game.

THUMBS UP!

I picked up this game for my son and I. Wow, what a great game. We both love the mission mentioned above when you are the gunner in a AC-130 Specter Gunship taking out the enemy in a village.

I've spent a number of sorties in L/E aircraft using the FLIR and this mission is so great with the details...visuals, comms, etc.

If anyone is on the fence about getting it, I think it is well worth it.

I'm stuck on that mission though. I get to the part where all your guys (with the flashing beacons) load into the two helos that landed. But there's one guy who still stands near the entrance of the village and doesn't make his way to the helos. And so the C-130 just flies in circles and i'm trying to maybe find a lurking enemy so I can end the mission but i've killed everyone and literally laid waste to the entire village. But that one guy just keeps standing there and the C-130 just keeps circling endlessly. Is there something I missed?

Never mind, I got it. I guess when I played through the first time one of the guys must've got stuck behind a car (a glitch) and since I saved shortly afterward the guy was locked in place for every playthrough afterward. I simply re-played the mission from the beginning, and all my guys went to the extraction point as they were supposed to.

I finished the single player game last night. Thank goodness for the auto save feature the game has! I've got to go through it again on a harder level now. The AC130 mission was fun but I loved the sniper mission.

I hope you sat through all the credits at the end. There is one final mission after the credits where your team clears an aircraft inflight to rescue a VIP. It unlocks cheats and Arcade Mode.
