I know, I've been on it for the past 3 years!
I am wondering who is replacing me... Whoever you are, you're in good shape as there aren't any major installs or upgrades coming in the near future. SCCS has been taken over by the ET's, also. You'll deal mostly with Win2003, SIPR, 1MC, 21MC, EON PBX, Web Manager, and the knucklehead GPOW's screwing up the quarterdeck... You also have a good IT3 who'll be working for you. Right now he is heading up a Morale Gaming (X-Box/PS3) Network for all the RecDecks. Good guy and a hard worker. |

are you guys on image 5.2? we have to do that and a huge recap that will give us about 40 new desktops/laptops when we get home from this patrol. then McCammon and i are both out of here. SCCS to the ET's. sucks for them.

No 5.2 yet, I haven't even heard they were putting that onboard yet. We do have the recap ahead, and they better get all our machines this time. I still have two GX's onboard... DOH! They're going to DRMO when we rthp 'cause they wont rebuild on the new server.
So both of you depart at the same time? That's gonna be hard for your replacements. Good for you, bad for them!  |

yea, we got the go-ahead on 5.2 from ESU Alameda just before we left. so we'll slap that on when we get home after we fix half of the RAID 0 array that took a dump about a month ago. we have two GX machines as well. JUNK! they'll be about 4 months of overlap with the IT3 reporting but who knows when the IT1 will get here. heck yea, cheers to that

I'm the IT2 here at ESD St. Pete that is up for transfer. I will say that whoever gets the orders for St. Pete be prepared to work as there is a lot of stuff coming down the pike in addition to what is already there. We maintian in excess of 25 unit both shore/afloat with a wide range of stuff to be maintained. One of the bigger moves coming up s Air Station Clearwater's populating a building that they just took over from the Navy and they share with PSU307. This will be a new HUGE project. If you have any questions feel free to look me up.

You must have had highly sought picks becasue I am guessing only Priority 1-3 IT1s have got orders or emails. I am Priority 4 and still have not heard anything. Any Priority 4 or 5 IT1s out there got orders or an email yet? |

Some are sought after, and some aren't, at least as far as I know of. My e-resume's a bit of a mix; I wasn't shy about putting some nice billets down just in case they weren't wanted by the OUTCONUS/Underway (or both) crowd.

After four long years of standing watch I am happy to finally be moving somewhere else. I am hoping for St. Louis anyone been issued orders there yet? Everyone here has their orders expect for the IT's I hate the wait!
