WHAT THE HELL!?!

Okay, so a bunch of us took the SWE. A bunch of us want to become 2nd's, 1st's, and Chief's.
What is totally blowing my mind is this...

YOU HAVE A RAW SCORE!

BUT there are groups of people, who even work in the SAME office that flat out refuse to even discuss it. It's like some people are comparing it to an e-peen contest. It's not that big of a deal. We all wrote somewhere, but then you have those guys that refuse to even consider telling anyone else where they wrote.

This makes life hard for people like me. I'm sitting here compiling a spreadsheet of all the scores. I'm calling friends and compiling theirs in to it. I am hoping to get a good idea of where everyone placed... but do people want to share?

HELL NO!

What the deuce guys... I thought we were adults.

relax. Other peoples scores are non of your bussiness unless they choose to share it, and even then, unless you are looking over their shoulder while they are in DA, you got no clue who is telling the truth.

Also - relax even more as the scores will likely change as the SMEs review challanges.

Breath grasshopper, breath

Was just a frustrating morning. My OPS and CWO were even expressing frustration with it.

I'm calmed down and good now.
I do understand that people don't have to share... I was just having a stressed morning.

My apologies to all.

I wish I had time to create threads on fredsplace and compile spreadsheets on advancements. Unforunately, I'm actually working (even at night). I hope you include this effort or your eval support, it might give you an edge up on your peers. Best of luck!

And what if you wrote poorly on the test, or at least believe you may have... Once you share that score you're sharing with everybody how badly you did.

Better yet, what if you thought you wrote extremely well but after seeing the RAW scores that everybody else was posting discovered that you did horribly...

Personally I never shared my score as it's a direct advertisment of how I did on the test. At least with the final eligibility list there are other factors besides your score that affect your placement... Plus every time I calculated my raw score and figured out where I was on the various unofficial lists that float around where I actually was when the final eligibility list came out wasn't even close to where the unofficial lists forecasted me.

Another thought... How would you like to get the reputation that you advanced not because you did well on the test but because you have been in rate for 15+ years and have so many dinosaur points that you end up in the top 5 just for writing your name? I know a few of those folks, and learned of others thanks to those lists...

Getting the scores right is not that hard. The hardest part is determining the standard deviation. without TIS TIG evals RAW seatime and awards you are wasting your time. the raw means nothing unless everything else is factored in.

I created a spreadsheet with lots of formulas for the 04 and 05 list that makes it pretty easy.
I kept everyone's contributons confidential from each other, thus ensuring participation. Even those that scored low submitted. I was the only one that knew the scores of other members. We had huge participation numbers and my list was just about spot on accurate to the MSG, and a month earlier. I sent out bi-weekly updates, and revised when the raw revised.

Without the participation, you cannot compile the data. anonymity is required to get the data.

I gave the spreadsheet to Jarad Heinz, whom passed it on to......who knows? drop me a line if you want a copy of the spreadsheet, its spread out over 4 or five tabs and calculates everything.

Shawn

p.s. I was number one when I compiled it and so was Jarad. Maybe the mojo of the spreadsheet is still working Smile

The legit list comes out at the end of June. Sit tight and wait for the real deal.

I chose not to share becuase this game is starting to suck. Even though my last score was way higher than my last 4 SWE scores and eventualy placed 11. I chose not to share because this game sucks, I'm tired of playing this game, I just want to advance.
