I am going back into the reserves and this unit is about 1/2 an hr away. Had a bad experience with a reserve unit when I was on the IRR. The unit was too laid back, even catered while we went to the field.

Anyone in this unit (3/14) or dealt with them? I am probably going to change my MOS from 3531 to 08XX, but was trying to get a first hand account of the unit before I sign the paperwork.

I know they just got back from Iraq last year.

More than likely they will want you to stay motor t or they will talk you into going to Hq Btry in Philly as an operator. I was with 14th Marines they would go to the field alot and they are not laid back. Great group of Marines.
I think they are being moved to another location due to base closures.

Thanks for the info. i was hoping they went to the field a lot. I hate Motor T. I went open contract originally and thats what the Marines Corps gave me. I was really looking forward to changing my MOS. I guess we will see. Again, I appreciate the input.

We had an BTRY from 3/14 attached to us during Desert Storm. They were good to go. Very good at their jobs.

A good friend of mine is in that unit. I also worked downtown with a Marine from that unit. If you want, maybe we could set something up if you want to talk to one of them. I'm sure they'd both be fine with it. send me an email if you want, amartin86@gmail.com
