Artillery brings dignity to what would otherwise be just a brawl.

I'll start this, we have started to get new members on here, so I though we should re-introduce ourselves.

Steve, I was an 0861, was with Naval Gunfire 2/10, re-enlisted and went on Barracks Duty in Charleston SC. Oct 84-Nov 93.

Grant, not technically a redleg but was a 2311 with A1/11 then G2/12. My first C.O. made sure if you were not doing anything in your normal course of work you were up on the gunline. So all my buds were 0811's

None that I can release just yet, still in testing phase. if you google it it is the French 120mm RTM stands for Rifle Towed Mortar. Great piece of gear, small, simple, yet very lethal, we only lose 5 meters off of 155 lethality.

that would either be the 777 light weight howitzer, they tested that around then, or the DragonFire. The Dragon fire is the same tube as ours but is fully auto. It Auto loads, has DFCS of sorts all you need people for is to feed it ammo. Counter battery sort of thing.

Now that you mention it Im pretty sure the guys in my unit that were selected to go test it were talking about the 777. Sounds familier. Have they started implementing that in the batteries yet?

That weapon is currently supporting both Iraq with the Marines, and Afghanistan with the Canadians and Army. They have the new Excaliber round that gives you a 5 meter CEP at 30K. The only 198's left are about two Battery's of Reserves and the Aritillery unit aboard Quantico.
