I have nothing but respectfor our warriors in Iraq and Afghanistan - but - Everything your hear or read about the Vets is the for these poor guys. Comments about their plight and lack of help get votes. We are now forgotten. How about 1000 a day dying? We don't supply headlines or votes on "this is what we are going to do for you". Forget about us and the Korian and Vietnam slugs. We are not headlines. I am a lucky one. I went in at 17 and got in the end of the war (at Okinawa), but I am now a "Young WWII vet". Why do we need help? We are going to die soon. Strike one more vote! They talk about the backlog in disability claims. We are now on the bottom of the list. The politicians show pictures of them with the current wounded.. Have they seen the sorry sight of WWII, Korean, Vietnam vets as the Clinics and VA Hospitals. These pics don't get votes. A short example, over 70 they won't do a PSA test on the prostate. "You are going to die in 10 years anyway". I love and respect those young and valiant warriors now serving, but don't forget the old castaway slugs whose lives were ruined many years ago but somehow still survive. VA ands pols don't care. They need the future votes and current support from those who do support the military.
They don't need us anymore!

Signed off: WWII Castoffs.
