RE: http://www.military.com/forums/0,15240,84168,00.html
I am retired USMC and Civil Service. My question is: I paid into SBP when I retired from USMC 1973 throgh 1990. My service time from USMC and Civil Service was combined. In 1974 I went to work in Civil Service and retired in 1990. I pay into SBP now through my combined service. I had seventeen years pay to USMC SBP and eighteen years pay to Civil Service SBP for a total of thirty five years. I will be seventy two in August 2008. Will I be considered paid up SBP??? |

Thanks for some information my husband just passed away April 10, 2008. He paid into SBP for 25 years and they tell me I can't have it because I can get Dic. I think this is unfair because that was to help me after my husband passed. So far I have received nothing no paper work from the VA I am at my end here trying to get something started so I will have some income coming in. I thought I would draw my husband Social Security but because I am disable they said I was only intitled to 252.00 plus my disabilty.any help would make it easier for me
