After Congress saw fit to give themselves a pay raise this year it only seems logical that both Military Retirees and Social Security Recipients should not receive a COLA in 2010!!! How can Congress approve pay hikes for themselves and then have the gall to not allow COLA increases? They must not go to the store to purchase groceries or have services done on anything they own. Grocery prices have not only increased but packaging by the retailers has reduced how much you receive in the package for the same or higher price paid before the packaging changes. Labor prices have increased as a result of the recession. And, oh yes, the cost of fuel has been continually increasing throughout the year. Watch, now that the people who really need COLA do not receive it because of the governments decision, all prices will rise. First they have to make a case that there isn't a need for a COLA then not provide it and finally once it is no longer available as an alternative prices will rise. The Administration and the Congress we currently have serving us, the American people, are less than honest and are self-serving. Why did they see fit to give themselves a pay raise when every American is suffering in one way or another because of their poor decisions?
