Of concern to me is the proposed cost being spouted on Tricare for Life - when you start talking about $125 initial annual cost each per husband and wife, followed by additional cost for the first X number of dollars (I believe it was $4K) and of course, add the cost of Medicare which normally goes up yearly. It would be time for me to bail out and just go into an HMO - most retired enlisted would be put under a major financial strain - of course, for an Admiral or a field grade officer, no doubt it is only a drop in the bucket but percentage wise an enlisted man will suffer.

The whole idea of putting more financial burden on military retirees is absolutely absurd. Stop messing with those who have honorably served, save, and preserved the Nation.

Look at cutting the cost of bombs, missiles, and nuclear productions. There is probably enough stock piled or out of date bombs and can serve the Nation's defense needs.

But, adding a 100.00 here, and reducing a salary or raise there on the military or retire and their benefits are not the solution to anything.

The great military industrial complex has been ignored way to long.

Additionally, this March E-7 –E9 over 20 years will be screened for continued service. No specifics identified, they will just pick and choose who gets to keep their job.

Then, E6 and below with up to 10 years need to request to stay in the serve. The PTS expansion.

The Nation is falling apart because of failure of top leadership and priorities.

What’s next? Retirement pay? You people are creating an American Mayhem.

I know for a fact this story is not reported with integrity. Do not believe it when he says that a financial crisis is more of a threat than terrorism.

I am not saying he is not concerned, every American is but the story is not reported correctly.

Air surveillance such as satellite images used in special military operations require the use of sophisticated technologies. NASA is expensive, why because we wanted to put men on the moon and explore other planets, then why not utilize this advanced scientific information in order to win the war on terror? Expensive, yes war is always expensive. It is expensive to drop bombs from planes and cause damage.

“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded,”. Barack Hussein Obama. quoted 2 july 2008, denver colo.where do you think funding for this will come from...more cuts to the military again.lets hope not the last thing weneed is the military being reduced in size and scope so some che guevarra t-shirt wearing college kids can become the new SA or SS.

Unfortunately, ADM Mullen is only the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and cannot order an investigation into the security threat created by congressional lack of oversite and mishandling there of.
