They are trying to force us out again on the deal that they promised for health care for us and our family's the rest of our lifes for 20 yrs service looks like a contract don't mean anything.
This is a Crock! I got one of these letters also. I am just recently retired and I live 25 miles from the base and it takes me LESS than 30 min to get to the base! Not to meation I work only 15 min from the base. This is nothing but another ploy to take away our earned benefits! Everybody needs to take a stand on this...or we (Retirees) will eventually be forced out of Tricare Prime.

You think? Obama weaslewords everything he says. It came across to me that he said the military will lose no benefits. I would have been more impressed if he had included Retirees.
This is quite distressing as my spouse wishes to move to the coast, considerably farther away from the MTF I use now... So as I see it now, we will be stuck a 30 minute drive away from Madigan. I cannot even find reference to this issue on the MAMC website, and indeed they only mention the number of days for appointments of various types, omitting the 30 minute drivetime that I see on Tricare sites. I am also unable to find a local map with what they consider a 30 minute drive time overlay...
When the hell did we go from miles to minutes??? The areas where set up in miles from your home. I live about 15 miles from an Army post hospital. It can take as much as 35 minutes to get there on some days. This is pure BS.
When are those idiots in the Pentagon going to wake up and start remembering that they will be retired one day and end upon the crappy end of the stick with the rest of us!!!

They are not going to have the same "crap" as the rest of us. Remember, the military is managed, not led - managed, by civilians. They will fall under the Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan. Not to be confused with Obamacare, since it will be excluded. When they pass legislation that includes all Americans, I will be far less critical. Well...maybe not.
