My husband who was 100% disabled when he died had paid in to SBP for 20yrs so I would get a portion of his retirement, at his death I was given the monies he had paid into that program and given not even the 50% of his disability check, I feel cheated as I feel I had the right to 50% of both and got neither. I'm proud of my husbands service and I'm grateful for the benefits that I do receive, but I feel I was cheated of what was promised us. Joanne Graves

I am sorry for your loss. My deceased veteran did the same.
The Committee on Veterans Affairs through amendment 4979 is trying to eliminate the SBP/DIC offset for us. Are your Senators supporting this action?
I am e-mailing this Committee daily to urge those Senators who have not endorsed this amendment to do so.
Recently, there was a successful federal lawsuit which ruled in our favor. But, DOD may appeal it.
I hope you, I, and others in the same unfair situaion receive the benefits our spouses paid for. We need lots of help from widows like us
to let our legislators ,and those running for office , know how we feel.
