RE: http://www.military.com/featur...15240,203539,00.html

I have worked on veterans education benefits for 6 years and 3 at a college. This term i have had to purchase books for students, their groceries, and help with bills. I am thankful for the VFW and American Legion for their help. This is going to be a systemic problem, the manual processes will be there until the automation is put in place. Congress should have never placed an initation date on this bill until it was done. The hardship that this has caused the veterans and the unwarrented blame the VA has had to endure in uncalled for. Then again, I have seen the VA become the veteran's biggest adversary instead of their advocate with the Government, so they are not totally off the hook.

I wish I had payment delays. I am trying to go back and the 911 will not pay for it, becuse it is not a College degree program. What BS this school is VA approved but only for Montgomery GI Bill. This needs to be fixed the President said that we should appriciate the trades. Then lets approve Vocational schools as lagitamit training.

Lets all hope that the badly needed in house modifications to streamline our vets getting their payments on time on a regular basis each month gets input from the actual people who are involved in the admin process.
Each state needs to have someone monitoring the problems and then come up with a quick, easy and EFFECTIVE solution. In turn, regional and national trends need to be addressed to increase the overall system to keep our vets in class and not deeply in debt.

Really???? Shinseki is the a@@ho[e general that changed the ARMY to one with Beret's that were not made in the U.S. of AMERICA. Put americans first, oh wait I know, I know theyre trying! Get it done, make it happen that is what I told when I was in the military. Hurry up and wait does not work for the many veterans that are not taken care of during this travesty. 2 strikes shinseki, well publicized strikes(SHAME).

It is difficult to believe ANYONE in the current administration will take even partial blame for ANYTHING! It appears the current administration wants to move very quickly on issues THEY want to enact while letting crutial domestic and international issues that do not pander to the far left slid into the quagmire of indecision! I am reminded of the little poem that sadly depicts our wonderful military under this administration:
"God and the soldier we adore,
In times of trouble, not before;
The danger passed and all things righted
God is forgotten and the soldier slighted."
As General Douglas MacArthur said,"The very object of war is victory, not prolonged indecision!"
Perhaps Obama, the current Comander-In Chief, should study more AMERICAN history......then possibly even he would understand that the United States military provides him the ability to be Comander-In Chief!! Perhaps he would realize he needs to lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way!!

Your profile disagrees with your first ever post. Your profile:

So far Secretary of the VA Ric Shenseki has stepped forward and overturned three prior bad decisions regarding Agent Orange and PTSD. It is to early to pass judgement on the gentleman at this point, however his actions have shown great promise to improving veterans benefits.

You have a right to dislike him, that is not questioned by me. However during his trip to earning four stars on each shoulder, he earned the Combat Infanryman Badge and two Purple Heart Medals.

That can often be what many veterans experience, it is a shame. So we have a source here on the Sound Off Boards to assist veterans in dealing with the VA. Hopefully all of you will check it out.

I have been representing veterans since November 1977 and offer my experience free. We have other experts assisting as well:
