As far as some of the REMFs @ the Pentagon goes:
1.) Most of the people responsible for this "re-inventing the wheel" and "if it ain't broke we get a NEW one to replace it"
mentality probably haven't been in a combat zone during their entire military careers.
2.) REALITY is a freightening concept for the career types who constantly have to "look good on paper" for the OERS
because the last time they were in a field unit they were probably lieutenants & captains.
3.) The longer a field grade officer stays desk bound @ the Pentagon, the less contact he has with combat troops and the environment they live with every single day.
