I do not understand what the DFAS people are attempting to do, personally I do not under stand why they call this Retro pay.
I was financing my own disability until I combined Military and Civil Servise and bought my military time and retired with 37 years and 2 month of servise. That was in 1997, June to be axact. My VA disability was set 1t a combined 70% since 1978 and before that 40-50-60 and on upward. AT one point I was drawing another $30.00 per month for a combat related injury to my hips back and kidney, which was uin my opinion the result of a 122 MM rocket blast in the RVN Feb of 1968. I was sent paperwork to fill out by the CRSC folks, Which they then denied, there are no medical records that explain the cause of injury just that an injury was beleived to be the cause of me losing a left hip and other abnormalities that have caused Degernative Joint Disorder, both hips and lower spine. The VA did a MRI several years ago and noted the deformed right kidney but did nothing about it at that time. It is now time for me to go back to the VA and see what they are to do with that Kidney and the right hip and its pains me greatly. Be aware that the CRSC, wants a Medical record that states mater of factly, injury sustained due to a describer event, and no consideration is paid to the fact that at a later date the injury causes the loss of a hip, or Kidney. I never ebfore say such a statement on a medical record, jst that SSG or Pvt was treated for scrapes and bruises and abrasions complained of soreness and discoloration of knee area. I was never a sick book rider so didn't go to the Medics on all the events that have led up to my current Medical condition. I was to Macho and if I could pass on advise to new service menbers , when you get hurt go on sick call or report to the Dispensary adn get that recorded. My Medical records were lost in Vietnam so I haven't been able to find any of them. My case is still pending if I can ever find any of those individualy Medical records for Feb of 1968 in Long Binh. What exactly does this Retro mean: Please someone explain. The DFAS and CRSC folks don't know! nor do I. Thanks R.L.Hyatt CWO Retired Thanks |
