Tom, I appreciate your column, I am a military spouse, now since November 1st my husband retired from the USCG serving 22.7 years. The deciding factor was the MEDICAL problems, which forced us to make a decision, while in Wyoming I personally had to cause a Congressional action to get someone to help us with "providers" its very difficult to move somewhere with 7 family members and NO INSURANCE COVERAGE, or coverage but no PROVIDERS to provide medical or dental services in a 2-3 hour radius. Why? Because of the LACK of payment, The government is being regjected all over the US, because they are dictating the payment to the providers therefore leaving the providers nothing to do but to say "NO" we are no longer accepting, Tricare, Medicaid, or Medicare. So now we are in the Dallas Metro area in Texas and find ourselves in the EXACT same boat as Wyoming, NO ONE wants to take it, we found 1 brand new doctor that said he would agree to take it and now after 1 month of WAITING to be seen by the doctor TRICARE still has not signed off on his REQUEST to be a PRIME provider. Therefore leaving myself and my other children NO DOCTOR at the present time, so that $480 a year is not being used for US, it's being used for The Government (which in my eyes are beginning to look like theives) which is leaving us a bitter taste in our mouth. The mounds of paperwork and the hassle and then the money, what for ???? What a waste of time and money. It would easier to be on Welfare at this point.
