most all care falls on family members any way you look at it. if you realy want to rais dr. rates have them come to the home and ghange the bags and rags, stand by while the significant other does the runnning around. Everyone disabled knows what i meas so i'll keep it short.Mabe this Dr, just want to pocket some extra money by hoping a loving spouse will call a private co. to do these things. at the least he is not thinking of the veteran or his family. how many strangers did he invite to his home last year. how many people did he treat with love , giving and kindness and not the mighty dr. i say another one to vote out of office.

What about those that were injured before 09-11-01?...
Are the families of those veterans any less a care giver or any less "stressed"?!...
No one begrudges the veterans of today, far, far, from it!...
The point is, there are a lot of veterans out there, from other conflicts and their families that are suffering in silence...
I guess since we are older and won't be around that much longer, the politicians don't worry about us or our votes...
We shall see...
Respectfully, SUNLINER81

This really shows the difference between Democrats and Republicans. Democrats are their brother's keepers. Republicans believe in survival
of the fitest or every man for himself.

This is an important bill, BUT, I resent the fact that Congress tries to lump numerous other bills on other ones. That is the problem today, each Congressman adds his or her own agenda watering down the real issues and increasing unrelated costs and allowing for behind the scenes deal making. Lobbyists, as well, should be refused direct access and campaign contributory authorization as this process contributes to corruption and ethics violations.
Congress should vote each bill as stand alone legislation. Too many additions and ammendments allow for waste, deal making, additional costs and possible corruption.

I agree with Stranded. The bill should not only cover 9/11 service men. It should alos cover veterans period. My husband was in the vietnam war. He is disabled and it is no joke trying to take care of him. Not to mention the PTSD depression that he has. The lawmakers should include all veterans before passing this bill

Much as I hate to admit it, Sen. Coburn is right! My husband (Vietnam era) is totally disabled, and rather than allow him to stay at home with paid caregivers coming in daily, the government chose to stick him in a VA Contract nursing home at probably Twice the cost! This bill definitely needs to be thought out before it is up for a vote. Somebody has some explaining to do!
