Which base where you at? I think (if I remember the dates correctly) I was there about that time, dad was stationed at Spangdahlem.

wow seems alot of our dads were in germany around the same time. my dad was in the 101st airborne and did two tours over there. from '84-85 and again in 86-87 which is when i was born over there myself in W. Berlin.

I can imagine exactly how you feel kinda of, both my parents were in the USAF, my dad the longest and when my b/f of three years decided he wanted to join the army my heart almost HIT the ground literally. I had so many flashback o my life growing up and what it felt like almost haveing a single parent and did I want that life for myself. But I think in the end if ya'll have that really strong foundation in your relationship it should work... I promise it won't be easy but it'll work. Now my b/f has been in the Army almost a yr and we've spent most of that time apart and in complete opposite time zones. (he's now stationed in WA and I live in MD) and he's scheduled to depoly on the 22nd to Iraq. His sister married her bf of 5yrs last august, then he joined the army in november didn't finish all his BCT and AIT until last June then was sent Korea for a yr in July and she's now 4months pregnant so. It'll be a challange but How can you tell someone not to follow thier dream
