Episode Description Originally Aired: May 21, 2008 Patriotism abounds as Alan and Denny celebrate their acceptance into the Auxiliary Coast Guard. However, when the town of Concord, Massachusetts wants to secede from the United States and Alan takes the case, Denny is deeply offended. The case gets personal when Denny appears in court representing the opposing side.
Well, at least they're not wearing a chestful of reasons, though they did make themselves FSOs. Not sure that wearing the uniform while pleading a court case or while going fishing would go over well, though.
Mildy irritating that more often than not they referred to being in the "Auxiliary Coast Guard". A simple enough fact to have kept straight.
Course they referred to being "in the Coast Guard" several times and in the military once.
As to the episode itself, I generally like it, but Shore's closing argument seemed about 2 years out of date and mostly a repeat of parts of arguments in past shows that had cases regarding some of those issues.
What did the judge call the choker whites? Was it 'ridiculous custome' or 'ridiculous outfit'?
And they didn't take the oath. They got a letter from the DirAux stating they were 'in'. No member ever has to take the oath. Once the DirAux says you are a member - then you are a member. The swearing in is an optional ceremony.
