We have met the enemy and he is us. Pogo |
Source Criminal Conduct blog Who Is Steven James Nemec, Wannabe? article.
The Aux related events occured before his final capture.
Since when did or does Auxies carry badges, the Aux doesn't need nor use no stink'n badges. |

Maybe not badges, but some Auxies (not this one) do wear those stink'n boots!

The large cap device looks something like a "badge."
Or, better yet, the National Staff Badge: And Ancora... Maybe the swat team look you often complain about will go away. That is, if Esquire Magazine has anything to say about it! Look at the sub-head right above the on the cover of the magazine's latest issue... Knowing how the Guard is, though, it will probably take a while and be preceded by many ...gjd |

And that header is:
Let's see - not so long ago the CG went to the ODU cargo pants and the Aux followed suit. Even more recently the CG switched or is switching to the untucked ODU shirt. And of course once that happens the Aux will drop trou and grab ankles and then play "monkey see, monkey do". BTW - I wasn't so found of the ODU shirt, but I really liked the cargo pants. They are the only parts of the uni I didn't sell off on eBay. |

Are you saying the ODU shirt may be worn outside the slacks?
Isn't that a dangerous thing? I remember catching my shirt in a flywheel belt once and my tie in a gear when ties were propper for CE's. Wow, bad news. |

The untucked ODU shirt isn't here yet but it is coming. And it doesn't look like you just untuck the current shirt. Heavens to Betsy that would be the easy policy to implement. It looks like the CG is developing a brand new shirt just for the untucked variety.
For more info see: ALCOAST 011/07: RESULTS OF UNIFORM BOARD NO. 41

So in 2008 you get to spend your money replacing the ODU and in 2009 you get to spend your money replacing all your PFDs. Maybe in 2010 you'll get to spend your time and money doing a real mission and not replacing perfectly good equipment and uniforms - the replacements being necessry because the Aux just must play Monkey See, Monkey Do with the CG. |

My two sets of ODU's from 2006 are about dead, but I guess I'll try and make them last til the new ones come out.
I'm sure there will be a wear in period for the new ODU's just like an Auxie could still wear working blues. On the untucked ODU top, it works out quite well for those of us who are more "land" based... |

back to the article of the topic; that guy sounds like he's got some problems that would be better served with mental health treatment than with imprisonment... He's never been violent, but he clearly has some issues; I mean, even wannabes don't go appointing themselves "head of museum security" after a month of volunteering unless they have a screw loose...

Evidently, the uniform gurus aren’t talking to the operations folks. One side says that wearing things like rings and or a wrist watche is too dangerous because they can be snagged on machinery, and now the other side says to un-tuck our shirts? Are they stupid? One side is overly paranoid on safety, and the other is oblivious to a common safety issue! |

perhaps on a boat banning rings and watches is a bit overboard... but you'd never see me wearing a ring on a ship; that thing is staying locked up. You'd be amazed how many things on a ship can sever your finger by snagging your ring; even those watertight doors can do it!
Course, I'd keep my wedding ring at home when going on any ops, be they on a boat or a ship; I do NOT want to have to explain to my wife how my ring ended up at the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay! |

This can happen on smallboats too, not just ships. |
