Since the Aux made major changes in the 7030 Mission Activity Form, I am wondering what specific missions should be considered "augmentation" now? What is augmentation? Well, I would define it as an Auxie working at CG unit of some kind working directly with the CG in a position that is usually filled by a Coastie if an Auxie isn't doing it.

I fully recogize that this is somewhat of an artificial distinction since the Aux has become so integrated into CG operations that it is somewhat hard to separate them (a good thing).

Why am I asking, well, I want to do some analysis of how much augmenting the Aux did and would like to see what everybody would agree is augmentation under the current mission assignments.

These are what I think would generally be considered "augmentation" missions:
07A Watchstanding
08 CG Administrative Support
20B Radiowatchstanding -- since this includes time spent at Auxie facilities, I'm a little iffy about it.
22C Instructor for CG Courses
26 CG Crew Augmentation
70L MSO/MSD radio/phone watchstanding
70R Regional Exam Center support
93B CG Clinics Support

There are several MS-related codes that I didn't list because I'm not familiar enough with the programs to say whether the Auxies are doing things that the CG wouldn't do or are doing things that the CG has to do anyway.

07D - CG Operational Support is probably the most common used one by non-WSers.

08 CG Admin Support is usually used by Auxies doing web work, usually from home, for DirAuxs and other Coasties.

09 AIM is no longer an Auxie mission. It is now a CG Augmentation mission. It is run by the CG not the Aux.

20B - you are correct. This could be CG augmentation or Auxie stuff and there is no way to separate them.

28A Command Post Support could be Coastie or Auxie or with an MOU, someone else.

28G Initial Pollution Response - could be either

41, 42, 43 and probably 60B could be augmentation to non-CG units.

60A Interpreter Support is almost always a CG augie mission.

70 B thru L, R and T are probably augmentation. 70 M, N and V could go eitehr way.

All the 80s would probably be now considered augmentation.

90A and B and the 93s are probably all augmentation.

The data in the 93s is so fouled up after the change that it is meaningless. The data in the "old" headings was not properly imported to the "new" headings resulting in just a jumble of meaningless numbers.
