Jim Chase has never been part of BPAUX, he never could of it did not exist prior to our idea of this org in Nov. 2007, at which time Mr. Chase had stoped pursuing that name for over 2 years. His group in San Diego is called something entirely different, some Minuteman name, not BPAUX, and not the BPAUX we started.
I have never even seen Jim Chase at our camp in over 2.5 + years, so could not even recognize him if I had to.

Whaaa?

In the same post you claim the BP AUX is only 4 months old, AND over 2.5 years old? And I seem to recall a previous post of yours saying that critical articles from 2005 are outdated criticisms. I recall another of your posts saying BPAUX training and screening is so good, you have had no incident in over 3 years.

So now it seems to me like your answers about the age of the BPaux are not consistent.

Ken, just to be clear....Im not arguing that your service should stop, or the BPAUX should fold. Im just letting you know the details do not sound consistent to me.

The fact that there is a USBP, USBPaux, a BPaux, a HSPIG and a HSPI doesnt help.

CB-
sorry, I will clarify that when I stated "Camp" I meant that at "Camp Vigilance" where we all muster I have not seen Jim Chase. Camp is now 16 months old, prior to that we were at the local RV park, so I lumped all together as a total - 2.5 years. That was not meant to mean that BPAUX has been around that long, no BPAUX is only 4 months old as I stated.

Ken, I recall a post, from either you or Carl, that there had been no incidents in over 3 years.

And I saw two links to critical articles from 2005, and your reply was they were not current criticisms. I dont recall you saying something like "hey wait, thats not us!" or "BPAUX wasnt even around in 2005."

I am a little surprised that the Border Patrol does not have an official Auxiliary that it can use similiar to the Coast Guard and it's Auxiliary.

Seems to me the USCGaux supports the safety part of the ADs mission. The BP mission is all about law enforcement. Any border volunteer would be taking a tremendous risk, as their actions are interfering with criminal activity, and they could easily be attacked for it.

So I could see why the volunteers would want to be armed. And I can also see why the gov would want no official connection with non-employees who are armed.

A lot of the State Marine Police have armed and sworn auxiliary assets. That is what I based my inquiry on.

Carl may of stated that, he has been doing this a little longer than I. I know that the entire time we have been at the border with our MM & BPAUX groups there has not been one single accident on or from either side there, that has allowed us to have such a good working relationship with all the LEO's in the area.

And I did not reply with a "hey that is not us" because I thought it was clear that is was not us based on the information in the article from 2005.

OkiDoki....

I think that they tried this a few years ago, and actually got some big $$$$ for funding, but our wonderful government squashed the idea!

Maybe if they had done it we would not be in this mess we are in at the borders now! Just my opinion...

Ken, have you ever thought about having someone lobby congress with a proposal to start an official U. S. Border Patrol Auxiliary? I know it is complicated but it can be done. There is a gentleman by the name of H. Ross P. that has contributed funds and influence for such projects.

Very well stated, I would think that most all of the Aux folks would not want to be involved in any type of border enforcement or observation also. It is a very high risk assignment and you have no idea who is friend or foe, unlike most Aux patrols who are on the water today doing the educational thing, training and all that other stuff they do. I may be wrong, but if they wanted to become active it that we sure would welcom it, heck then maybe we could get off the water! And have some real life on the weekends! What an idea! how about running that up the flag pole at HQ? Sounds like a great topic for another Thread here! Any takers?

Not yet, it sounds like a great idea....I like it....

Maybe down the road when we have more folks on board and more time to do these "Other" things we can get an effort going for it!

Thanks for the idea...

I'm not going there, we don't know where these folks are all from so we don't lump them into any type of group, and certainley not by that name...

BTW, just heard that a lot of emails are going around to BLACKLIST me or not to respond to my postings...

OK, I have tried to make my point if that is what you guys do, then I'm ok with that.
I think I have covered every thing asked anyway...

I havne't gotten one of those. Never fear - the Aux is somewhat notorious for not being able to get its members on the same page. Someone once borrowed an expression first used about computer programmers and applied it to CG Auxies.

Thanks for the attribution. Like cats, first you have to find out where they want to go; then you have to run like blue bimini to get in front of them, if leading is your thing.

You guys can't be trusted. I had a signal splitter fail in my internet feed, and I was down for a few days. When I came back I find out you have been obnoxiousing all over each other and need to go back to kindergarten for Plays Well with Others retraining. Shame. Stop picking on the new guy.

SkyRay-
No problem it got a little tough for a while, but it seems to have slowed down a little.

I can relate to herding cats really well!

Yep, that is a good one, I use it a lot!

I like this better:

You know something?

I was late getting into this thread, and have neither the time nor inclination to absorb the 267 posts. . .

You know something else?

I'm glad!

Well, if you are going out you will be alone because there is no muster this weekend, and I would think that BP just might have a field day with you! :-)

BTW, we don't use FRS, so this might sound a little strange, but I smell a "Ditty" here again!
