That is the same vessel -- correct?

I thought I read in one of the listings found while googling that it had been sold...

Um yeah... so? It was replaced by STS Prince William, which is what I now sail. I've also sailed HMS Rose (which is now a museum ship after she was featured in Master and Commander) along with a whole lot of other tall ships... including this Russian Sail Training Ship:

You were implying that I sail on luxury yachts to Greece and such. Hardly. I volunteer on "sail training vessels" in all kinds of conditions. I sailed across the English Channel in a Force 9 in December. Again, far from luxurious.

No, just confused about the vessels -- since the photos you posted were of the Sir Winston Churchill. It was apparently retrofitted and turned into a luxury cruiser in 2002...so, I suppose the images were just a little dated.

Interesting non-Auxiliary activity anyway...

You're good, Pach! We sailed out of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay and on to Boston for the Tall Ships 2000 Race. I was on the Kruzenshtern.. which is a Russian Merchant Marine Training four masted barque. It is the second largest tall ship in the world, and climbing those yards was so much fun... 179 feet high.

Here's what she looks like under full sail. (Obviously, I didn't take the picture below)

Thats my old maritime "stomping ground". From 1988 to 1994 I lived in ona them little houses right beside MMA. Matter of fact, right across the street from the Army Corp of Engineers Canal Control Station, which is actually what ya see in the foreground of that foto.

Been up and down that canal at least a couple hundred times!!!-JRC

That's a really nice area. I'll have to check out my other photos and see if there's any more shore line you would recognize from Buzzards Bay.
