I happened to be in the car yesterday during a broadcast of “A Prairie Home Companion” (unsure if it was new or a repeat) and who happened to be in the audience?

COMDT Allen and MCPOCG Bowen, et al, along with Auxiliary representatives, were in the audience.

COMDT Allen talked briefly with Keillor. Garrison asked ADM Allen if the Coast Guard could use a 65 year old actor. ADM Allen replied the Auxiliary was the place to be. Of course Garrison had not heard of us, which made for an interesting exchange.

Always good press to get a mention from ADM Allen.

Hey, if it worked for Spader and Captain Kirk, it should work for Garrison Keillor.

Who wants to break it to Garrison that we do have a CG presence on Rainy lake. There is an Aux presence, and during the summer months there is an active duty contingent.

Keillor's a bit self-absorbed. I don't think he spends much time checking to see who is or isn't on Rainy Lake while he's there.
