Another reason why not to join the British Army's Royal Armoured Corps?

The Rifles are an infantry regiment, not RAC.

Her ex was an RAC as I recall, so she's hardly unfamiliar with either squaddies or AFVs.

You really should know better than to refer to a Bulldog APC as a "tank" by the way, Enssantor.

The description isn't mine- I copied and pasted the article link and the headline from a different forum.

I am well aware of the difference between APCs and tanks. Speaking of which, I am also wondering why the RAC has not sent any Challenger IIs to Afghanistan when some were present at Operation Telic in Iraq? I think I recall some Afghanistan footage of some Warrior APCs that were shown there, but nothing more.

Just because that country is mainly mountainous does not mean that armour is not useful there; Canada does use its new Leopard IIs there as well as a few Leopard Ones, and the terrain certainly did not deter the Soviets from bringing their armour formations there when they invaded, IIRC.
