"Anyway, he was told by the local VA, That average wait times are about 130 days, not much longer, so you should contact your VSO and find out, at least inquire about it..."

My husband's VA worker proudly crowed about how his case had been handled in 6.5 months instead of the usual FIVE YEARS. Wow, that's a track record to be proud of.

She was very impressed by it, but I was not. In fact, I think I get more upset by her attitude about it than the fact that it was sitting on someone's desk for that long.

Not only is she overly happy about the VA's timeframe, but she expects me to kiss her feet and say how wonderful the VA is. Hell will freeze before that ever happens.

Avoiding key stressors which may stimulate PTSD symptoms is a primary goal of those who suffer from the 'disorder.'

I guess my stressors are different. Ie, pounding on doors is a major stressor for me, hearing people yelling and fighting is another, police sirens, people that just met me and try to get friendly with my kids I automatically think that something is up with that. Large crowds, I hate walmart, I have to go super late at night. If I have a friend that has a husband or boyfriend that yells alot, I have to drop her before I drop her boyfriend. heh. Not having access to a phone, for some reason that really stresses me, I guess because I can't call for help if I need it.

mine are a lot like yours patriot girl

I'd advise you to avoid the movie "untraceable"... had a bad bad reaction to that one.

I also have trouble with the thought of my bike not being immediately accessible and in good working order. Riding regularly actually helps me destress, apparently because riding makes you stay right "in that moment" and makes you coordinate mind and body actively to a far far greater extent than driving a car ever could, but the psychological problem with not having it is I think a reflection of being "trapped" without transportation hat I control available.
