I just recieved a letter from VA,St Petersburg today and my phone was shutt off this week and I can't call my VSO.
The letter is notification of my disability claim of 100% rating for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia effective Jun 10, 2008. It also says combined 100%;This rating is pernament and total in nature and no further examination is scheduled;it also says this is an unofficial notice based on preliminary findings and I should recieve a confirmation letter in 60 days.
What shall I expect now and what should my next move be?
You should receive a complete packet with the VA RO. It should have a bunch of information on the decision and some other things you should look at. Soon you will receive a payment for retroactive payment to the filing date and will start to receive regular payments. If you have direct deposit, expect to see it in your account.
Talk to your VSO - even if you have to borrow a phone.
How long after this letter do you think a deposit will be made. Do you think I may be still looking at 60 days before a deposit and what day of the month are the deposits made?
I am not sure when you will get the first, but it can come any day after they submit the paper work for payment. I have never received a pre-decision decision, so I can not say. After that all payments are on the first of the month or if the first of the month is a weekend or holiday the last business day before the first.
