Are the CUU uniforms in short supply?? Any news on uniform changes or who we can go to for replenishment / replacement? We now drill in ODU uniform to save wear and tear on the CUU.

I'm not understanding how one weekend a month can wear out your CUU's. You should have a minimum on 3 sets. Yes, I know that we do more than that, however, try using the oldest ones for the jobs/training that will tear them up. Keep one set for drill weekends.

The BDU/CUU/DCU is being phased out by other branches. You can always order MILSPEC uniforms from BQ. Put in a brown sheet for a huge order and send it up. Perhaps that will get some attention.

Moot now since the CMDT came out with ODU's for all except when on FTX, TNG, etc. Nice that we get all new black gear to go with our green gear. Roll Eyes

My ODU's are beat to ****..boardings, climbing ladders, doing inspections in engine rooms, compartments etc. One weekend a month beat the shi@@ out of mine even though I have multiple pairs. Havent heard anything about the CUU and it will be a few years before its phased in

BTDT-

What is the type of milspec BDU at BQ or US C that would match the issued item? I have a coworker who is a new PS3 assigned to a neighboring DOG unit that has orders to the SMTC in mid Oct and was told that he needed at least 2 pair of CUU's --- no ODU's. Also, what type cover is used with the CUU? Thanks.

Good info above. The unit should be getting the gear for him if he is assigned to a PSU.

Chief, the unit should still provide this gear for him even if he is going to a MSST. They should have access to the uniforms needed. Make sure that the PS3 gets the information from the school on required items to bring and prerequisites for the training. If he does not meet the prerequisites (weapons training, etc) he will be sent home. Have him contact BMC Rochon (course chief) for more info if needs it. Any questions you can always send me an email. Thanks.

Confusing reply, the CUU has been in service for quite some many years now. As Fezzik said, I don't think it means what you think it means.
