The scores for the RSWE came in....how did everyone do.

Exam ranking was 21 out of 151...damn, there sure a lot of folks that must be a PS1! I am hoping the TIR/TIS/Awards stuff helps out a bit.

Yep. And every year there are more PS1s to compete. It's all about points. Get them as soon as you can.

I know the Coast Guard definitions of advance and promote, but being that in the English language advance and promote are synonyms, why is it that when people say promote that get hammered on these boards when the words mean the same thing in the context they are used on these boards.

We do that so as to make sure that members use the correct terms at all times. It makes things clearer and ensures that false information doesn't spread.

You wouldn't slack off on a SAR case message because you think some of the words can mean the same thing, would you? Accuracy is important, and this ensures that we keep accurate. It's our jobs as LPO's.
