Reserve ME billet map breaksdown as follows:

BILLET NUMBERS REMOVED, OBTAINED FROM AN "HTTPS" WEB SITE.

You ought to know better, Chief!

What's interesting is that there are more MECM and MECS positions than the AD side. I didn't expect to see so many MECS positions. This bodes well for us taking the RSWE in October. I would like to hear your thoughts on how this will all shake out. Also, the ME application package has a box to check if you are willing to commute outside the RCD.

Aloha,

Hammer

A good lesson for us all regarding OPSEC and what NOT to post. Thank you Jerry, and thank you Hammer for setting up this valuable teaching moment.

Good thing BTDT is that it has nothing to do with OPSEC. These same numbers are or will be available on Direct Access and can be discussed anytime. Not much different than when people discuss how many patrol boats are where, or how many personnel work at a certain unit! The point of posting the position numbers (not where they are) is for dialogue and gauging people's opinion as to how the ME rate will shake out! Of course, if I can provide a teaching moment, then I have done my job! Wink

It does have a lot to do with how information is properly handled - and you don't take it from an FOUO intranet site* and post it on a public internet site.

[*nor from internal CG e-mails]

Actually the numbers weren't taken from a FOUO site, but were sent to me via email. It's a mute point because its public information as I stated! Nice try gents.

So...back to my original post regarding the E7, E8, and E9 billets, both AD and Reserve. Would like to hear your thoughts on how this will all pan out.

Chief:

The billet numbers you posted originally came from an Excel spreadsheet which was located on an "https" CG Intranet site. This was not "public information."

Direct Access requires an individual's EMPLID and password to access. Information posted there is also not "public information."

If you did in fact receive those billet numbers in a CG E-mail, it was not intended for release as "public information" outside the CG Intranet E-mail system.

If you received those billet numbers through a personal E-mail account, then somebody else inappropriately forwarded the billet numbers to you, and I apologize for assuming it was you, but not for removing the numbers from this discussion.

BOTTOM LINE, FOLKS: Use caution when posting anything that you cannot find openly on the Internet. If its only the CG Intranet, think twice about cutting and pasting it here.

'nuff said, let's get back to having fun... Wink

Thanks JerryG. You are right, and I should have made sure of the original source of those spreadsheets. That's the problem with receiving information from trusted sources, you also have to verify. I just wanted to prompt dialogue on billets and the shape of the new ME rating force.

Thanks for the spelling correction to EX_CG_GM!

Just raggin' on you a bit Hammer. I once received a letter from my congress critter with the same error.

Of course I naturally expect more of you than I would a congress critter.... Smile

I know, but trying to cook dinner, drink my screwdrivers, and hammer out these responses can be tricky at times! Beer
