Good afternoon. I just recently completed my complete MEPS processing and I'm finishing up my packet for the Direct Petty Officer Program.
I live near Memphis, TN, but am accepting a billet in New Orleans. I have been a LEO for the last 5 years and spent the 3 years before that as a full time firefighter.
I was wondering if there is anyone contributing to this forum that is or has been stationed at New Orleans. I am planning to go down next week for a tour, but was looking for some other first hand experiences. Thanks in advance. I look forward to serving with each of you.
I'm stationed in New Orleans now, I can't wait to transfer out of here. The crime is really bad at least a shooting and day and that equals a murder a day normaly. Seeing your a reservist make sure you stay some where safe when you come down for drills. Make sure you have a buddy with you if you go out down here too. I don't want to make sound all doom and gloom. I wish you all the luck in the world on your tour down here. Try and find a unit closer to you.
